What is Mindful Leadership?

“Mindful Leadership is fitness for the mind by being in the present moment.
With dedication and practice, leaders transform themselves, organizations and their environments, resulting in increased innovation, focus, productivity and compassion”.

In the past decade, the number of people indicating that job stress is a major issue in their lives has doubled. Work-related physical and mental complaints to stress are costing Australian employers more than $10.11 billion yearly. (source: Medibank)

In today’s accelerating business world, with 24/7 connectivity, we are inundated with more information and pressured to do more with less. For this reason, mindfulness is being taught and practiced in a growing number of companies worldwide in the effort to improve personal and professional effectiveness and overall organisational productivity.

According to the Harvard Business Review, mindfulness is no longer a luxury for business leaders. It’s a ‘must-have.’ The latest neuroscience research, which explores the impact of meditation on the brain, states, “neuroscientists have shown that practicing mindfulness affects brain areas related to perception, body awareness, pain tolerance, emotion regulation, introspection, complex thinking, and sense of self”.

The Still Your Mind Mindful Leadership program centres around building emotional intelligence through mindfulness to enable people to work at their peak performance by being in the present moment. In essence, the skills taught improve focus, clarity, compassion and creativity.

Bespoke programs can be designed to meet your specific needs. For more information, please email Carolyne@stillyourmind.com.au or call 0418 411 300.
